On May 10th, news broke that Cointelegraph's official Twitter account was allegedly hacked, leading to the distribution of scam links. According to crypto influencer @thedefiedge, he received a private message from the account requesting him to review an article related to his content. Upon clicking the link, he was directed to a site that asked for his X account login credentials, but the domain name contained a spelling error—“Cointetegraph” instead of “Cointelegraph,” raising suspicion.

In addition to this, market sources reported that the Cointelegraph account posted an on-chain token contract link and disabled comments, which was quickly deleted afterward. The hack underscores the continued risks that prominent platforms face in terms of account security, especially in the crypto space where scams are rampant.
