Ethereum has officially surpassed platinum in global asset rankings. According to data from 8Marketcap, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap is now valued at $366.67 billion, edging out platinum’s $363.87 billion. This milestone places Ethereum as the 34th largest asset in the world.

The achievement highlights Ethereum’s continued growth and relevance, especially as institutional adoption of crypto accelerates and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization gains traction. ETH’s 2.86% price increase over the past 24 hours contributed to this shift, further solidifying its standing among traditional commodities and financial assets.

While platinum has long been seen as a stable store of value, Ethereum’s rise reflects the evolving role of blockchain technology in global finance and tech infrastructure. If momentum continues, ETH could soon challenge even larger traditional assets in the global rankings.
