Brad Garlinghouse warns users of hacked YouTube accounts impersonating Ripple
Fake XRP giveaways are being used to exploit unsuspecting users

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has issued a public alert regarding an uptick in scam activity amid the ongoing crypto market surge. The warning follows a wave of fake YouTube accounts that have been hijacked and rebranded to mimic Ripple’s official channels.

These impersonators are promoting fraudulent XRP giveaway livestreams, a common crypto scam tactic that has resurfaced with increasing frequency during market rallies. Garlinghouse emphasized that Ripple does not run any form of giveaways and urged the public to remain cautious.

“Scammers are getting more sophisticated, using deepfake content and spoofed branding to trick users,” he said. He also advised users to verify all Ripple content only through official channels and avoid engaging with unsolicited links or promotions.

Ripple has faced similar impersonation campaigns in the past, especially during bull market periods. The company continues to work with platforms like YouTube to identify and remove fraudulent content.
